About the Business

RoofTiler.co.uk is a specialised roofing company based in Chelmsford and Romford. We work in Essex and the surrounding ares and we pride ourselves on our quality craftmanship and highly competitive prices. I started this company with the aim of establishing RoofTiler.co.uk as the go to roofing contractor in the local area for conscientious service and unbeatable value.

Personally I have been in the roofing industry since 1997 starting as a labourer for my fathers roofing company. I eventually spent over 10 years there running retile, repair and fascia and soffit jobs.

At Rooftiler.co.uk we understand that in this age of instant, internet feedback you need to offer excellent customer service as well as outstanding craftmanship in order to gain the reputation and recommendations that really drive the industry.

Whatever the job, large or small, our priority will always be to offer an outstanding service, that will be worthy of recommendation every time.

New Roof

What do Customers need to consider when planning to have a new Installation from RoofTiler.co.uk?

Planning restrictions:

If your property is a listed building or in a conservation area there may be rules governing how your new roof can be installed, often you will need to match the tiles/slates to the original ones used in this situation.

Roofline:

As you have decided to purchase a new roof, you should also consider the rest of your roofline. Your fascias are the shallow boards that your guttering system is fixed to. Your soffits are the boards underneath your fascias that fill the gap between the wall of your property and your fascia boards. You should give serious consideration to replacing your fascias, soffits and guttering at the same time as having your roof replaced. This will save you the cost of erecting seperate scaffolding to replace them at a later date.

Chimney stacks:

You should also consider any chimney stacks that you have on the property. They are usually unused and can be removed, often inexpensivly. Alternativly you may need to consider having them repointed with new morter to retain their stability.

Roof lights:

You should consider installing a rooflight to bring natural light into your loft space or even through your loft into another room. Again you would save on access and labour costs by installing a roof light at the same time as a new roof.

Materials:

The materials that we use on your new roof will effect the cost of the finished installation. Concrete tiles are the cheapest option but do not last as long nor weather as attractivly as clay or slate roofs. Clay tiles last longer than concrete and keep their colour for their whole lifetime. They will add value to your property. Natural slate is the best roof covering of all often lasting over 100 years and is used on the most prestigeous buildings throughout the country.
